Rails are used to guide the wheels as they move; they take on the main loads and transfer the wheel pressure to the underlying elements. In places of electric traction, rails serve as a conductor of reverse power current.
Railroad rails are used for continuous welded and sectional railways. Railway rails are manufactured in accordance with GOST R 51685. The rails are laid on sleepers. Due to the design features of such a path, the resistance during movement is minimal, therefore, energy consumption is also minimal.
