One of the leaders in popularity among all types of rolled metal products is steel strip. It has found applications in many industries. Construction and industrial production cannot do without it. Tools, wagons, cars and much more are made from steel strip.
The standard strip thickness is 4.5 mm, while it can vary in width, this parameter is determined by the customer. The maximum allowable value is 56 mm. The thickness can also be changed as needed. Its limiting value is 36 mm.
In the manufacture of steel strip, both hot and cold rolling is used. Hot rolled strip is used for decorative framing of buildings and construction, for making tools. Often with its help, various outbuildings are constructed: stairs, fences, gratings. In rolled metal products, a steel strip is used to create a corner or channel. If it is necessary to ground the object, then a galvanized strip is used.
Different types of steel are used in the production of strip:
• carbon (high and standard quality);
• alloyed or high quality.
In the first case, the length cannot exceed 10 meters, in the second - 6 meters.
There are several classifications for grades and categories of steel strip, depending on its characteristics. The main division is based on rolling accuracy:
• increased accuracy - class A;
• normal accuracy - class B.
